Suntan - More Than Just Change Of Skin Color

Getting a suntan or sunburn are two different things. As we all know sunlight is very important part of our lives as it provides Vitamin D to us. A normal tan if one get is fine as long as you are not overexposed to sunlight causing your skin to burn. As sunlight falls on you it helps in creation of melanin which regulates the skin color.

There are different psychological reasons for people getting their skin tanned. For many it is a fashion statement and sometimes these prove to be very harmful for ones skin. Suntan affects differently to the different skin types. They are slotted into six categories which depend on the different skin types.

The different skin types are 1. Very sensitive which burns and never tans 2. Tanning is very little but can burn easily 3. Tanning is gradual and burning is moderate 4. Easily tans with less burns 5. Tans abundantly and very rarely burns 6. Least sensitive with less burns and heavy tanning

of the precautions you can take to avoid over exposure of your skin, so as to avoid the UV rays which can be very cancerous. Rates of breast, prostrate and other cancerous disease have increased mainly due to the UV rays. Whenever you are out, try wearing a cap to avoid the rays.

There are higher chances of damage to your skin due to the sun. Whenever you are out apply sunscreen which is effective enough to protect your skin and try putting the sunscreen 15-20 minutes before you move out in the open. Wearing proper clothing also helps as it would be covering most parts of your body. Don't stop using sunscreen as it is cloudy weather, use it all the times.
